Former President of the Senate, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, has expressed confidence that the Minister of Works, Senator Dave Umahi would do very well in his new mandate.
The former Secretary to the Government of the Federation said he was sure Umahi would even exceed the expectations of Nigerians.
Speaking at a reception organized in the honour of the Works Minister by the Ebonyi State Government in Abuja, he said Umahi’s achievements as a governor qualified him as Minister.
Anyim, who was Chairman of the occasion said, “We are here gathered to celebrate Umahi as Minister of works. The gathering speaks volume of the expectations of Nigerians. We are here gathered to thank Mr. President for appointing one of our own. We urge you to go and conquer. Our guest, Umahi, would exceed Nigerians expectations.”
The Secretary to Ebonyi State Government, Prof. Grace Umezuruike lauded the achievements of Umahi as Ebonyi Governor.

Prof. Umezuruike said that Umahi took time out to supervise projects awarded in his government.
She charged staff of the Ministry of Works to be ready to work at the new Minister’s pace.
The new Minister, Dave Umahi, assured that he will not disappoint Nigerians in his new role.
He thanked the President for the confidence reposed in him and called for the support from relevant stakeholders to ensure success.
Also the Ebonyi State Governor, Rt Hon Francis Nwifuru, described Umahi as one of the finest exports of the state, who engineered the development and unity they enjoy today.
He also thanked the President for the appointment.
“Your Excellency, Mr. President, on behalf of the Government and finest people of Ebonyi State, I make bold to assure you that you have appointed a rare asset to oversee one of the most critical ministries in Nigeria. He is a great professional, resilient, upright, hardworking and a prudent manager of resources.
“At this dire moment in the history of our Nation, Nigeria, your appointment of Sen. Engr. David Nweze Umahi in the Ministry of Works can be described as a masterstroke,” he said.
Several other digisntarirs who spoke commended Umahi for his achievements and expressed confidence he will deliver to the expectations of Nigerians in his new office.
