Ekiti State Government yesterday said it had approved the rehabilitation of the Ado-Ilawe road and construction of dual carriageway to link GRA III Extension and the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion in Ado-Ekiti.
This was made known in a statement by the Commissioner for Information, Taiwo Olatunbosun and made available to reporters in Ado-Ekiti, shortly after State Executive Council meeting.
Olatunbosun said the projects were approved to facilitate free flow of traffic and unfettered access into and around the state capital.

He added that the new road projects were also aimed at significantly improving the socio-economic activities and stimulating growth and development.
He noted that the government decided to rehabilitate the Ado-Ilawe the road where some sections had deteriorated due to high water-table which had led to failure of the road thereby causing discomfort to motorists.
The commissioner, who lauded the Governor Biodun Oyebanji-led administration over its strategic intervention on road network in the state, said the road projects would bring huge relief to commuters plying the roads.
