Wilson

Newcastle United have announced that striker Callum Wilson has signed a one-year contract extension with the club.

The 31-year-old was due to see his original deal expire at the end of this season, but he has now decided to commit his future to the Magpies until the summer of 2025. Wilson has established himself as a clinical goalscorer at Newcastle since joining from Bournemouth in 2020, scoring 40 goals in 79 league appearances.

The England international has been Newcastle’s leading scorer for the past three seasons, and he found the net 18 times in 31 Premier League games last season to help Eddie Howe’s side secure a top-four finish and qualify for the Champions League.

Wilson, who has since scored twice in four top-flight games so far this term, currently sits fifth on the club’s all-time Premier League goalscorers chart, just one goal behind Les Ferdinand and eight behind club legend Alan Shearer in second place.
