‘We hail Abiodun for recognising festival’

Olota of Ota, Oba Abdulkabir Obalanlege, has praised Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, for approving Omo Iganmode as a state’s cultural festival.

 He spoke at a conference on  the event, tagged: “Ota: Cradle of Awori Civilisation.

 Appreciating the cooperation of the community for its  support every year, Obalanlege said the festival remains a spirit that bound Awori indigenes.

He urged governments, community, corporate groups and youths to support this year’s festival committee.

 Central Committee Chair, Chief Temitayo Idowu, said the festival was Odun Ota before it metamorphosed into Iganmode Days and renamed Omo Iganmode.

He said this will be the 31st edition, saying it will feature education programmes, commerce, ifaology, early migration and religious matters.

Sons and daughters of Awori will converge to felicitate with custodians of Olofin Apesin Olode, ruler of Awori.
