APC’s Ododo extends lead with 200,653 votes in Kogi

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has extended its lead in the Kogi governorship election held on Saturday with a margin of 200,653 votes from 20 out of the 21 local government areas of the state.

According to the results so far declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC), APC polled 420,136 votes against its main rival, the  Social Democratic Party (SDP) which scored a total of 219,483 votes.

The breakdown of the results shows that the APC has secured victory in 12 local governments areas of Okehi, Ijumu, Okenne, Yagba West, Adavi, Ajaokuta, Ogori Magongo.

Others are: Mopamoro, Bassa, Kogi Koto Karfe and Kabba/Bunnu and Lokoja local government Areas.

The SDP, however, won in seven council areas which include Igalamela, Dekina, Ankpa, Olamaboro, Omala, Ofu and Idah local government.

The African Democratic Congress(ADC) candidate, Leke Abejide won one local government while the candidate of the People Democratic Party (PDP) Dino Melaye is yet to win any local government.

The collation of the results is, however suspended, till 9pm by the State Returning Officer and Deputy Vice chancellor, University of Nigeria Nsukka, Prof. Johnson Urama.
