A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikeja, Prince Muyideen Illo, has commended the giant strides of Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu in his four and a half years in office.

Illo gave the commendation at the New Year Day fanfare programme he organised for children in Ikeja.

The fanfare was sponsored by the Prince Adeyinka Illo Foundation.

The programme was organized for children in Ikeja local government area of the state.

Addressing the gathering of more than 1000 children and their parents, Illo expressed that the celebration was intended to connect with those facing economic challenges, offering them joy during the Yuletide season.

He added that the gesture would also serve as a palliative in support of government efforts at bringing succor to the needy and vulnerable in the local government.

Illo commended Sanwo-Olu, listing some of his administration’s giant strides to include light rail and construction of over 300 roads to ease traffic congestion and transportation of human and goods, job creation and rebuilding of dilapidated social infrastructure among others.

He said: “We in Ikeja are particularly happy with his administration as we witnessed unprecedented growth under His Excellency, especially in road constructions and job provisions for our hitherto  jobless youths.”

The APC chieftain also enjoined Nigerians to be patient with President Bola Tinubu’s administration, noting that some pains are inescapable in the attempt to fix any rot.

He said: “Already, this administration is working on broken down refineries in the aftermath of fuel subsidy removal so that once the refineries are fully back, it will begin to reduce reliance of imported petroleum products consuming dollar.

“Again, many road projects have been awarded across the country, while the Federal Government has rolled out many palliative measures to cushion the effect of this reform measure; this is the way to go.”
