In the spirit of Ramadan, the Rachael Averik Foundation (RAF), has given cash palliative to destitute, Almajiri and other vulnerable Muslims in Kaduna.
Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Miss Rachael Averik, while doling out the cash assistance, said the gesture was to reduce the impact of the economic downturn on the vulnerable groups during the one month of compulsory fasting period.
Over a hundred Almajiris and other vulnerable individuals around the Kano Road Mosque in Kaduna received ₦10,000 each to aid them during the fasting period.
During the aid distribution, Miss Averik encouraged the beneficiaries to pray for the nation’s welfare and economic development, emphasizing the significance of compassion in times of rising living costs.
She advocated for the collaboration between Non-Governmental Organizations and affluent individuals to complement government efforts in supporting the destitute and vulnerable segments of society.
She noted: “I understand the hardships of poverty first-hand. That’s why we are here today to lighten some of their burdens. As they receive this assistance, I urge them to pray for peace and guidance for our leaders.”
The beneficiaries, comprising Almajiris, individuals with disabilities, widows, and underprivileged women, conveyed heartfelt appreciation for Rachael’s generosity and compassion, extending wishes for her continued success beyond her endeavors.
One of the beneficiaries, expressed profound gratitude, describing the assistance as a significant boost to their day.
She said: “I woke up with nothing to eat, but through divine intervention, this woman came to our aid. We pray that God rewards her abundantly.”
Also, the Foundation had earlier, in commemoration of International Women’s Day (IWD) 2024, themed #InspireInclusion, extended financial aid to widows and underprivileged women.
