Suspected Fulani herdsmen have allegedly shot dead a young man, Mr. Stephen Dieserue, at Agadama, Uwheru community in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
They injured another resident, Mr. Ichivwoghene Aduwa.
A source said the incident occurred when residents learnt that the herdsmen’s cattle were destroying their farmland.
He said they told the Fulani to leave the area with their cattle and they refused. An argument ensued, during which the deceased was killed and the second victim was injured. It was learnt that after the incident, a combined team of the Joint Task Force was deployed in the community to maintain peace.
Police spokesman Charles Murka confirmed the incident. He said they are investigating the matter.
