Not many people attain the lofty age of 50, but Olusoji Akinwande, an outstanding accountant, is among those who are lucky to have hit this significant milestone. No wonder he attributed the feat to God.

They say life begins at 40 but for Akinwande life has just begun.

Ebony, with springy steps, Akinwande, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), penultimate Sunday gathered his family members and friends at the Health Garde, an event centre, in Ikeja, Lagos for what he termed ‘Celebrating Grace’ party.

But it was more than wining and dining. He also celebrated with the less privileged that he has a passion for and commitment to, through his pet project, the Olusoji Akinwande Development Foundation (OADF), whose fifth anniversary coincided with the ‘golden’ event.

Akinwande ensured that no fewer than 2,000 families drawn from eight states received packs of raw food through the Foundation.

He also kicked off the third edition of his yearly essay contest that will be rounded off in October. He affirmed that the first winner would go home with about N1.5 million.

Expectedly, beaming smiles and exuding confidence that the foundation has come of age, from a humble beginning.

The OAF, he added, is headed for the height, stating that its uniqueness is based on youth empowerment and bridging the gap between them and adults.
