Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has said he reduced civil servants’ N35,000 wage award to N15,000 to get enough resources to pay same for workers in the tertiary institutions.
Aiyedatiwa, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, said the reduction followed approval to pay N35,000 to workers in state-owned tertiary institutions.

The statement said the payment would run for six months
According to the governor, inability of the tertiary institutions to pay the award from their subvention necessitated his intervention.
Pensioners, according to the statement, were still receiving N10,000 monthly wage award.
