Families of slain police officers in Ondo State have gotten N38.8 million as death benefits of their loved ones.
The Commissioner of Police, Abayomi Oladipo, presented the cheques yesterday.
A statement by the command’s spokesperson, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, said the action was in line with the Inspector General of Police’s (IG) commitment to the welfare of serving and families of late officers.

It reads: “The IG has made it a point of duty to ensure that families of late officers are adequately taken care of. The cheques presented are for claim settlement, Group Life Assurance and Group Personal Accident Insurance schemes meant to improve the welfare of family members of late police officers.”
Oladipo urged the beneficiaries to put the money to good use and improve the welfare of their families.
