President of the ARD FMC Owo, Dr. Asunloye Olufemi Adesola, said the protest was part of a nationwide demonstration march by all members of NARD to stand in solidarity with their colleagues in captivity.
Dr. Aunloye said it was heartbreaking for Dr Ganiyat to remain in the kidnappers’ den for over seven months.
He said: “We’re not asking for too much; we just want her to be freed. Dr. Ganiyat is our sister, colleague, mother, and dedicated doctor who has devoted her life to helping others medically. Her prolonged abduction is unacceptable. An injury to one is an injury to all.”
