Nigeria Women for Agricultural Progressive and Development Initiative (NWAPDI) may partner Osun State to enhance agricultural practice and benefits for women farmers.
Led by National Coordinator, Omolara Svensson, NWAPDI delegation, which was in Osun’s Liaison Office in Abuja, noted importance of leveraging the state’s rich resources, including palm oil, cassava, garri, and cocoa, to improve the state’s economy.
Svensson decried the outdated farming and processing methods used by the women, highlighting the health risk.

She advocated mechanisation of agricultural processes by acquiring locally fabricated machines for palm oil, and garri processing, and others, to improve quality and increase export opportunities.
She assured that a partnership with NWAPDI would benefit women farmers in Osun, eager to advance their farming with right support.
Svensson noted that the partnership would extend beyond women, as NWAPDI’s youth wing includes both genders.
Commissioner for Federal Affairs, Adenike Adeleke, who received the delegation on behalf of the government, assured them that their proposals would be considered and expressed her commitment to making the partnership a reality, given its potential to improve livelihoods of the state’s women farmers.
