•President felicitates Igbinedion at 90, Dikko Radda at 55
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sent warm felicitations to the Esama of Benin Kingdom, High Chief Gabriel Igbinedion, and Katsina State Governor Dikko Umar Radda, on their 90th and 55th birthdays.
Chief Igbinedion is celebrating his landmark birthday today while Governor Dikko Radda marked his 55th birthday yesterday.
A statement yesterday in Abuja by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, reads: “President Bola Tinubu rejoices with Chief (Dr.) Gabriel Igbinedion, the Esama of Benin, for attaining another milestone age on September 11, 2024.
“The President praises the Esama for his lifetime achievements and trail-blazing as a businessman, philanthropist, and advocate for education and community development.
“The President notes that Chief Igbinedion …has contributed immensely to job creation and the growth of the nation’s economy as the founder and chairman of the Igbinedion Group, a conglomerate with interests in various sectors, including oil and gas, construction, and hospitality.
“He also commends the Esama for establishing Igbinedion University, the first privately owned university in the country, and for his commitment to advancing quality education and academic excellence.

“The President affirms that Nigeria is better because of the sacrifices of patriots like High Chief Igbinedion, who have dedicated their time and resources to the progress and development of the nation.
“The President joins the Oba of Benin, the people of the Bini Kingdom, family, friends, and well-wishers, praying that the Esama’s legacy continues to inspire future generations.”
Also, felicitating Governor Dikko Radda, President Tinubu hailed him for living an impactful life, both in his private and public career, which culminated in his election in 2023.
“The President said the governor has lived an impactful life through the many facets of his private and public career, culminating in his election as governor in 2023.
“President Tinubu said Governor Radda’s life trajectory should inspire young Nigerians who desire to pursue careers in the public sector.
“The President prayed for Governor Radda to achieve more accomplishments and urged him to rededicate himself to serving his people and Nigeria,” the statement said.
Also, House of Representatives speaker Tajudeen Abbas has congratulated High Chief Igbinedion on “the momentous occasion” of his 90th birthday.
In a congratulatory message by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, Speaker Abbas said: “I join your family, the Igbinedions, to celebrate and pray the Almighty to continue to sustain you in good health. I commend your laudable achievements and contributions to nation-building, monumental developmental strides, and your philanthropic gestures towards humanity.”
