The Osun Police Command has launched manhunt for unidentified gunmen after killing a local council worker whose wife they also robbed of N7,000.
It was gathered that the gunmen invaded the house of the victim, Afolabi Adeleke located at Abelebo area of Ipetumodu, headquarters of Ife North Local Government area of Osun State to rob him of his belongings.
Sources disclosed that the gunmen invaded the house around 1 am, shot Adeleke with a locally made gun, and snatched his wife’s purse.
Confirming the incident, the acting spokesperson of the state police command, Emmanuel Giwa-Alade explained that operatives are hunting for the perpetrators.

“Two armed robbers broke into Adeleke Afolabi’s house, robbed them of two smart phones and his wife’s purse containing the sum of N7,000 at gun point.
“Afolabi was shot. The case was reported to our division. We sprang into action and on getting to the scene our men met the man in a pool of blood. We rushed him to the hospital where he was later declared dead.
“The case is still under investigation. We will see to it that justice is being met by ensuring that the perpetrators are apprehended. “
