‘Contribute to Nigeria’s development’

The Vice Chancellor (VC), Augustine University, Ilara Epe, Lagos State, Prof. Christopher Odetunde, has advised Nigerians to contribute to the development of the country.

He spoke yesterday at a news conference heralding the 6th convocation.

Odetunde stressed the need for citizens to contribute their quota to the development of the nation, ‘’as government cannot do it alone.’’

The VC said 71 regular undergraduates would graduate alongside 28 students from St. Gregory School of Pastoral Music, an affiliate of the institution, through the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies.

He said the dynamic and faith-based institution not just teaches students to pass, but also builds students morally, for them to have a brighter future.

He said students that have passed through the institution are doing great in Nigeria and abroad, adding that the university is known for giving sound and high quality education.

Odetunde said private universities were feeling the pains of economic hardship, adding that they sought government’s and Nigerians’ intervention to ease the burden.

He urged the Federal Government to consider students in private universities for NELFUND, noting that such universities should be beneficiaries of TETFund projects.
