The Senate yesterday summoned the Chairman of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Brig.-Gen. Buba Marwa (retd.), to appear before its ad hoc committee to shed more light on allegations the agency leveled against Deputy Senate Leader Oyelola Ashiru (APC, Kwara South).
The resolution of the Senate followed its consideration of a Point of Order moved by Ashiru.

The senator, who came under Order 42 of the Senate Standing Orders, averred that the NDLEA’s reaction to a comment he made last week during a debate on a Bill had affected his integrity.
He said he neither took alcohol nor carbonated drinks except water.
Ashiru pleaded with the Senate to investigate the issue as a matter of urgency.
