The Founder of Lady Atinuke Oyindamola Memorial Home for the Mentally-challenged, Mrs Elsie Akerele, yesterday implored well-meaning Nigerians to build a clinic, to look after the health of the children at the home.
She spoke during the 2024 Awareness Week organised by the home to celebrate the children, with the theme: ‘Disability is not Inability’.
On the home’s activities during the week, she said tomorrow, there would be charity walk, kicking-off at Badagry Local Government Secretariat.

“Seminar will be organised on November 28, musical concert and talent spot will hold on November 30 at Badagry Local Government auditorium in Ajara, Badagry, while thanksgiving service is scheduled for December 15,” Akerele said.
She praised Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the support given to the home and Mrs Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu for her kind gesture.
Akerele also hailed Ministry of Youth and Social Development, Lagos State Office of Disability Affairs (LASODA), Association of Owners of Homes and Orphanages in Nigeria, Association of Medical Social Workers of Nigeria (AMSWON) and National Association of Social Workers (NASOW) for their support.
