Elder statesman and prominent businessman, Chief Morrison Olori, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the significant increase in Nigeria’s daily crude oil production, attributing the progress to the administration’s efforts to sustain peace in the Niger Delta region.
Speaking to journalists in Abuja, Chief Olori, who is also a leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, highlighted that Tinubu’s leadership is beginning to yield tangible results, urging Nigerians to remain supportive of the president’s policies and campaign promises.
“It’s not a mistake that Nigerians chose President Tinubu in the 2023 general elections. Though the beginning was rough and the challenges daunting, he handled them very well. The results of those policies are gradually trickling in”, he said.
Chief Olori celebrated the recent increase in crude oil production, which he revealed had reached 1.8 million barrels per day (mb/d) for the first time in years.
He credited the president’s leadership and his administration’s strategic consultations with stakeholders in the Niger Delta region for this achievement.
“This administration is doing something previous administrations failed to do. We must commend Mr. President for his leadership style. Sustaining peace in the Niger Delta and combating crude oil theft are key steps toward economic recovery”, he said.
The elder statesman also praised Tinubu for securing an investment deal with JBS S.A., one of the world’s largest meat processing companies, during the president’s recent visit to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
According to Olori, this agreement is poised to transform Nigeria’s livestock sector, reduce farmer-herder conflicts, and address hunger and poverty.
“This multi-billion-dollar deal will open up the livestock industry. With proper investment, Nigeria has the potential to feed Africa. President Tinubu’s commitment to attracting investors is unmatched”, he said.
Chief Olori further commended Tinubu’s decision to remove underperforming ministers, describing it as a bold move aimed at enhancing governance and delivering on campaign promises.
“Unlike his predecessors who retained under-performing ministers for political reasons, President Tinubu has taken the audacious decision to act in the administration’s best interest. Only he owns the right to hire and fire, and I commend him for this bold step”, Olori said.

Olori also lauded the president’s stabilization of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) through the constitution of a governing board.
He expressed optimism that the board would execute impactful projects aligned with Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.
“The Niger Delta is now set for rapid development. I call on the NDDC board to focus on projects that will improve the lives and economy of the region”, said.
As Tinubu’s policies begin to take root, Chief Olori urged the president to remain undeterred by criticism from opposition voices, saying, “Opposition will always criticise no matter what he does. He should focus on the ball. Nigerians are already seeing results, and this president wants a Nigeria that works”.
