Nigerian Consul General reaffirms support for Nollywood Film Festival Germany

The Nigerian Consul General to Germany, Dr. Yakubu Dadu, has pledged unwavering support for the annual Nollywood Film Festival Germany (NFFG.)

In the same vein, Dadu also pledged his support for the Nollywood Europe Golden Awards (NEGA).

Speaking during a recent courtesy visit from Isaac Izoya, founder of Ehizoya Golden Entertainment, Dr. Dadu commended the long-standing efforts to promote Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage through Nollywood.

In his remarks, the Consul General highlighted the importance of cultural diplomacy, stating, “We rely on your experience and the support of Nigerians, especially around Frankfurt, to achieve success. We’re here to promote Nigeria’s rich culture in this part of the world. Culture is the driving force of tourism, and for over 22 years, you have led this effort through Nollywood events. I attended your recent festival and saw the strength of your team. We want to build on that foundation to make Nigeria proud.”

Dr. Dadu also affirmed his commitment to sustaining the Nigeria-German Street Carnival, a vibrant cultural initiative launched by his predecessor, Consul General Akande.

Reflecting on Akande’s contributions, he remarked, “He left big shoes to fill, but with the continued collaboration of the Nigerian community, we will uphold and build upon his legacy.”

During the visit, Izoya acknowledged Dr. Dadu’s active participation in the recently concluded two-day NFFG and NEGA events, which left a significant impact on the Nigerian community in Germany.

“You’ve already started on a positive path by attending our recent Nollywood Film Festival and personally addressing attendees—a gesture that deeply resonated with the Nigerian communities across Germany and was widely shared online. We are committed to helping you succeed, especially if you uphold the open-door policy Your Excellency promised us during your speech at the festival.”
