The Lagos State Commissioner of Police (CP) Olarenwaju Ishola has assured residents of their safety and security throughout the yuletide period.
He gave the assurance yesterday during a phone interview with The Nation.
According to Ishola, the command had already mapped out plans to ensure enhanced security across the state, urging residents to go about their festivities without fear.
Ishola said: “I can assure you that Lagos is safe and will remain safe during the yuletide and beyond. I also live in Lagos and I want to enjoy this festive period.

“So, we have already mapped out plans which we keep reviewing. I am having regular meetings with my DPOs and Area Commanders as we fine tune out strategies to ensure that Lagosians do not have to worry about their safety and security.
“This is the most I can tell you at the moment as we will issue a press statement as the days draw near.”
Our correspondent gathered that operatives had been combing targeted areas and arresting suspected criminal elements especially those engaged in one-chance robbery and pickpocketing.
Also, there has been increased surveillance around major markets and bus stops across the state to instill confidence in the masses as they go about shopping for the yuletide.
