NBC okays Champion Radio for test run on 90.7FM

National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has given nod to a radio station, owned by Christ Miracle Church Mission (CMCM) at Ojodu, Lagos, to begin transmission.

Commission’s Zonal Director, Raphael Akpan, gave the approval when he led a team on an assessment tour.

The team inspected the studio, transmitter, inverter, mast, generator and others.

Akpan told reporters he was impressed with facilities on ground and granted broadcast licence to the church to operate to give the church more voice.

He said the visit was to ensure processes are followed, while contents are delivered according to extant laws.

Akpan hailed the church’s founder, Prophet Peter Adebisi and the council on the initiative to establish the station.

“From our observation, we can say CMCM Champion broadcasting network 90.7FM is ready for transmission.

“It is our prayer that this station will go places,” he said.

The zonal director advocated proper training of personnel to work in the radio station.

He urged them to avail themselves of relevant sections of National Broadcasting Code to be properly guided.

“ It’s important for managers of the studio to look inward and study National Broadcasting Code by studying the rules.

“I advise every operator of the studio to go through sections of NBC to be conversant with standard for broadcasting, commercials, engineering, among others,” he said.

Prophet Adebisi lauded NBC management for the approval granted the church to operate the radio station.

He said the station would promote church programmes and policies,  tell CMCM story to the world, train members that have passion in broadcast journalism, create employment for them, among others.

Chief Executive Officer of the station, Adegbie Taiwo Jordan, the head of station, promised that operators would comply with broadcasting regulations as approved by NBC.
