I’m contesting to win Anambra Gov 2025, says UNA chair

The chairman of United Nigeria Airlines (UNA) Dr Obiora Okonkwo has called on the members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to work towards taking over Anambra State in November 8 governorship election.

Okonkwo spoke at the weekend in his country home in Ogidi,Idemili North local government area while addressing 10 party members from each of the 21 local government areas.

The APC chieftain, who was a foundation member of the defunct Action Congress (AC) and Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) before it metamorphosed into APC, begged the members to support his ambition to lift the party up in Anambra

According to him: “The All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, has started investing money in APC as usual to scuttle the victory of our party in the governorship election.

“What they are doing is the fear of Dikeora. There’s fire burning in Anambra now. They have started talking about zoning which does not exist.

“Please, all I ask for, is APC ticket and leave the rest to me. Some people are contesting for their names to appear on the ballot, but I’m contesting to win the election for APC.”

He said apart from the former Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, he was the oldest AC and ACN member of APC in Anambra State.
