Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has hailed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for signing into law, a bill establishing Federal University of Sports at Afuze, the headquarters of Owan East Local Government.
He said the decision marked a milestone in the state’s commitment to expanding access to quality higher education and fostering intellectual growth.

Okpebholo said yesterday in Benin: “Today (February 12), we celebrate a victory for the people of Edo State.
“The establishment of the Federal University of Sports is a testament to President Tinubu’s dedication to advancing education in Nigeria. The institution will not only provide opportunities for our teeming youths, but will also serve as a catalyst for socio-economic development in our state and the nation at large.”
