‘Education, power to transform lives’

By Sophie Ochia

The Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, has urged youths to embrace education.

She said education has the power to transform lives, uplift communities, and unlock limitless potentials.

Princess Dada spoke during the distribution of free JAMB forms to students.

According to her, education is the foundation upon which dreams are built.

She said: “Each one of you, sitting here today, carries the potential to change the world. You hold within you the power to achieve greatness, and today, we take a major step forward in supporting your aspirations. The provision of these JAMB forms is not merely an act of goodwill; it is a commitment to your future and recognition of your determination and hard work.

“But our vision for educational development extends far beyond JAMB. We are dedicated to creating an environment where learning, innovation, and creativity flourish. Our continuous ICT training programs are designed to equip you with the necessary skills to thrive in a digital world. In this age of technology, understanding and leveraging ICT is not just a bonus; it is essential.

“Moreover, our skills acquisition training initiatives aim to empower you with practical abilities that will enable you to contribute meaningfully to society. Whether your intent is to pursue higher education or venture into entrepreneurship, these skills will serve as your toolkit for success. Additionally, we recognise the importance of a strong foundation in education. Supporting our primary schools is crucial, for it is in those early years that the seeds of knowledge and character are planted. By nurturing our youngest learners, we ensure that they grow into confident, capable individuals ready to face the challenges of tomorrow.

“As your Mayoress, I am deeply committed to fostering an environment where every child in Ikosi-Isheri LCDA has access to quality education and the resources they need to thrive. Together, we are creating a future where no dream is too big and no goal is out of reach.

“I urge you, dear students, to embrace this opportunity with both hands.

Work hard, stay focused, and remember that education is not just about acquiring knowledge; it is about creating pathways, building bridges, and making a positive impact in the lives of others. As you embark on this exciting journey, carry this thought in your hearts. You are the change makers, the visionaries, and the leaders of tomorrow. Let us work together to ensure that Ikosi-Isheri LCDA shines bright as a beacon of hope and progress.”
