Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU) has commended the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for honouring the pioneer Chief Judge (CJ) of Kwara State and Madawaki of Ilorin, by naming the proposed Court House being built in Ilorin after him.
In a statement signed by the Union’s National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Nurudeen Ibrahim, The National President of the Union, Alhaji Abdulmumini Ayo Abdulmalik thanked the Governor for recognizing and appreciating the contributions of Justice Kawu with the naming of the monument.

The community leader recalled the wonderful contributions of Justice Kawu, who was not known to display emotions during sittings, to the development of the state, saying that he was one of those who made remarkable contributions to the building of the Kwara State judiciary from scratch.
Abdulmalik said that the late jurist deserves the honour as he was not just a member of the first generation of lawyers produced by Kwara State but was also the first son of the State who became and served creditably as a Justice of the Supreme Court.
