The first batch of intending pilgrims from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) for the 2025 Hajj has arrived in Madina, Saudi Arabia, and visited several significant historical and religious sites.

According to Ahmad Saleh, Chief Information Officer of the FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (FCT MPWB), the pilgrims toured notable locations including Mount Uhud, where the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) fought the historic Battle of Uhud; the Quba Mosque, the first mosque built in Islam; and the Baqi Cemetery, the resting place of many of the Prophet’s companions and family members.

The visits were guided by board officials and Islamic scholars (Ulama), who educated the pilgrims on the historical and spiritual significance of each site, especially in relation to the Prophet’s migration (Hijrah) from Mecca to Madina.

Pilgrims are expected to spend four days in Madina before proceeding to Mecca for the main Hajj rites in June.

Additional visits planned include the Prophet’s tomb and the sacred Raudhah, both located within the Prophet’s Grand Mosque in Madina.
