Younger politicians should study the service model and dedication of late Oyo Governor Abiola Ajimobi, Senator Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi has said.
Akanbi, in a statement on Tuesday, described Ajimobi, who died five years ago as a visionary whose legacy continues to shape the political and developmental landscape of Oyo State.
Akanbi reflected on the impactful life of Ajimobi, who served as governor from 2011 to 2019, noting that his tenure was marked by bold reforms, infrastructural strides, and a commitment to peace and order.

“Senator Abiola Ajimobi was not just a governor, he was a pathfinder whose administrative reforms and courageous leadership style redefined governance in Oyo State,” Sen. Akanbi said. “Five years may have passed, but the mark he left behind remains indelible in our hearts and across the land.”
He praised Ajimobi’s political dexterity, deep intellect, and unmatched drive for progress, adding that his influence still resonates within the progressive family and beyond.
He urged younger politicians to study Ajimobi’s model of service and dedication, stating that building a stronger society depends on leaders who are bold, honest, and people-focused.
“Today, we celebrate not just his memory, but the ideals he stood for. May his soulu continue to rest in perfect peace,” he added.
