…as Ukachukwu, Ekwunife storm Achebe’s place
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State has announced a ₦2 million cash reward for any of the 326 wards in the state that records the highest number of registrations in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.
The CVR, which began on Tuesday, is being conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ahead of the November 8 governorship election.
The incentive was announced by APC’s governorship candidate, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, during a visit to Ogidi in Idemili Local Government Area, alongside his running mate, Senator Uche Ekwunife.
The visit formed part of their ongoing “thank you” tour to the 21 local government areas of the state.
Ogidi is the hometown of literary icon Prof. Chinua Achebe and the late Southeast APC Youth Leader, Chief Olisaemeka Onyeka (Odu).

Addressing thousands of supporters at Nkwo Ogidi market and St. Mark’s Ojoto, Ukachukwu encouraged eligible voters to participate actively in the CVR, which ends its first phase on July 17.
He assured voters that insecurity, kidnappings, and killings would be addressed decisively if APC is elected into power, promising to create a safe and enabling environment for the state’s development.
On her part, Senator Uche Ekwunife urged voters to use their PVCs to vote out the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) government led by Governor Chukwuma Soludo, declaring that APC would take over leadership in Anambra come November 8, 2025.
The APC team has toured nearly all local government areas in the state, with the official campaign expected to commence soon.
Party leaders claimed that growing support from across political lines is due to President Bola Tinubu’s leadership style.
