•1,000 Abia residents get food items

pro-President Bola Ahmed Tinubu group, Southeast Renewed Hope Agenda (SERHA), has vowed to work for President Tinubu’s victory in Southeast in 2027 general election.

The group distributed food items to over 1,000 residents drawn from the state’s 17 local governments.

The exercise in Umuahia, the state capital, was led by Southeast Coordinator, Belusochukwu Enwere.

He said although the exercise might not address all challenges facing the people, it sent a message that leadership must be attentive and responsive to citizens’ needs.

“Our dear President is doing that for the people,” he said.

He noted that the group will intensify political mobilisation ahead of 2027 elections.

“We want to state that from January we will tour all nooks and crannies of every ward and local government to mobilise support for the re-election of Mr President,” he said.

“To the people of Abia, I assure you Southeast Renewed Hope Agenda remains steadfast in its commitment to initiatives that uplift livelihoods, empower communities and strengthen unity in Southeast.”

Enwere said the exercise was a demonstration of the group’s shared commitment to compassion, solidarity and people-centred leadership.

He noted that the Renewed Hope Agenda is anchored on the principle that governance must be responsive to needs of the people, particularly at the grassroots, a commitment he said Tinubu has shown.

“This intervention is a modest but meaningful effort to support households and ease the burden on people,” he said.

“Food security remains a pressing issue in communities. Women, children, the elderly and other vulnerable groups are often the most affected.

“Today’s distribution is not merely about sharing food; it is about restoring hope, promoting dignity and reinforcing the spirit of togetherness that defines us as a people.”

Noting the economic and political importance of Abia State, Enwere said the state is known for its resilience, enterprise and strong community values.

“These qualities inspire our continued engagement with the people through practical initiatives that improve welfare and promote inclusive development,” he added.

Abia Coordinator, Hillary Adibe, lauded Tinubu’s efforts in steering the country towards progress and renewed prosperity.

Adibe reaffirmed the group’s commitment to supporting the President and the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the national, state and regional levels.

He also expressed appreciation to the President for providing employment opportunities and empowerment programmes, including grants, to party members in the state, noting that the initiatives have brought hope and relief to many families.

Some of the beneficiaries, including Mr Ifeanyi and Mrs Chinyere, described the palliatives as timely and expressed gratitude to the organisers, pledging their continued support for the APC and President Tinubu.
