Chairman of the LMC, Mallam Shehu Dikko has revealed that the Nigerian league would keep plunging in their ratings if Kano Pillars keeps dominating the League.
In an interview with www.footballlive.ng, Dikko said he consulted for the League organizers in the past when the league was rated number 1, and revealed the rating was largely due to the fact that the Nigeria Premier League was a keenly competitive football League.
“People don’t understand the indices used to rate the League. Its not just about the results, they also consider the level of competitiveness and the number of teams that win the League over a period of time.
“The reason why our rankings in recent times have dropped sharply among other things is also because one team has continued to win for the past 3 seasons, dominating the League system.”
“Back in the days, our League was open such that football clubs like Ocean boys, Bayelsa United and so on could challenge for and win the title.”
