Gaidam promises to rebuild communities destroyed by insurgents

Yobe State Governor Ibrahim Gaidam, yesterday urged the people of the state to continue to support his administration with prayers.

Governor Gaidam made the call yesterday while addressing the people of the state shortly after he took the oath of office for a second term in Damaturu.

Speaking shortly after taking the oath office, Governor Gaidam thanked the people of the state for voting for the APC in the state.

He announced that his administration will deploy all the necessary resources at its disposal to fight the insurgency and rebuild all the communities destroyed by the insurgents so that the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) can go back to their homes and continue their normal lives.

While unveiling some of the new priority of his new administration, Gaidam pledged the construction of new airport in Damaturu; roads and drainage networks across the 17 council areas, provision of potable drinking water, agricultural transformation, poverty alleviation, improved quality of education and job creation among others.

The governor said that his government will be open to constructive criticism, maintaining that such could help his shape the way forward of the state.
