• Scores 14th goal of the season
Nasarawa United midfielder,Esosa Igbinoba has shot to the top of the highest goals scorer chart of the Glo Premier League after he netted his 14th goal of the season against Enugu Rangers in a Glo Premier League Week 30 tie in Lafia.
Igbinoba is ahead of Sunshine Stars’ Tunde Adeniji and Heartland’s Bright Ejike who are on 13 and 12 goals respectively.
The former Lobi Stars player has been on scoring spree in the second stanza of the league after watching Adeniji and Ejike dominate proceedings in the first stanza of the top flight.
He still has to score 10 more goals from the last eight matches of the season, if he is to set his own league record after Enyimba’s Mfon Udoh scored 23 goals last season to end then Kaduna United’s Jude Aneke and Dolphins’ Emem Eduok 20 goal mark in the 2010/2011 and 2013/2014 seasons in that order.
