Watford hitman, Odion Jude Ighalo has told SportingLife that the EPL side won’t be carried away by their strong start to the season ahead of their Match Day 7 tie with Crystal Palace on Sunday.
The newly promoted side have beaten Swansea City and Newcastle United and they also held Everton, Southampton and West Brom to draw with their loss to Manchester City, the only disappointment so far this season.
Ighalo has contributed four out of the five goals netted by Watford this season and after their latest victory against the Magpies at the Saint James Park in Newcastle, the Super Eagles striker told SportingLife that their next target is how they would beat Crystal Palace on Sunday.
He said he was delighted to score the two goals that handed three points to Watford but that ahead of the visit of Crystal Palace to Vicarage Road Stadium they need to be vigilant and think less about their impressive start if they are to be rewarded with a win on Sunday.
“We were happy to beat Newcastle United but we need to concentrate on our next league tie against Crystal Palace. They are a tough side and we must be at our best if we are to beat them on Sunday,” Ighalo told SportingLife from his base.
Watford are 10th on the log with nine points from six matches.
