Sanusi suspends FlyNas from Hajj operations

Nigeria’s Amirul-Hajj and Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammad Sanusi II, has suspended FlyNas Airline from conveying Kaduna pilgrims from Saudi Arabia back to Nigeria, pending when its management will sort itself out.

The Special Adviser to Kaduna State Governor on Interfaith and a member of the state’s Hajj team, Namadi Musa, spoke yesterday in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

He said Top Bras and Dornier airlines had started conveying Kaduna pilgrims as replacements.

FlyNas airline had kept Kaduna pilgrims waiting for about 48 hours, either at the airport or hotels, since the beginning of the return flights to Nigeria 10 days ago.

Musa said Sanusi pleaded with Kaduna pilgrims, last Wednesday, when FlyNas failed to carry some pilgrims, after waiting for about two days.

According to him, the Emir of Kano suspended FlyNas to reduce the suffering of the pilgrims and fast-track their return to Nigeria.

The Hajj team member said FlyNas had conveyed the 10th batch with 226 pilgrims on board, the last set of Kaduna pilgrims from Saudi Arabia.

He added that the first batch of 228 pilgrims, signifying the 11th batch of Kaduna pilgrims, would arrive in Kaduna today on board Donier.
