The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State said yesterday that it was sure of victory on November 21.
The Governor Idris Wada re-election campaign machinery said in a statement that the party had put behind its defeat in the general election and was poised for victory in the governorship poll.
PDP said unlike the All Progressives Congress (APC), which it claimed was relying on the popularity of President Muhammadu Buhari to secure victory, it was working for a deserved victory.
In the statement by the Chief Communication Manager to the Governor, Mr. Phrank Shaibu, the party said its last defeat had awaken its leaders.
He said the party had addressed the issues that cost it victory and was wooing aggrieved members.
Shaibu said: “The last electoral loss by the Kogi PDP has awaken its leaders to the fact that the politics of today is no longer business as usual.
“What the PDP is doing is to halt its membership decline, bring its embittered members back to the fold and work towards winning.
“On the other hand, what the APC hopes for is to use the popularity of President Buhari to supplant the PDP. But this may no longer be an easy task, especially with the cracks in the membership of the Kogi APC.
“PDP has a candidate with little or no blemish. Thus, it has gone ahead to focus on building its capacity.”
