The death of Primate (Dr.) Emmanuel Omolaja Olorunwo in September has sent former Ogun State First Lady, Dr. Mrs. Olufunso Amosun, into mourning.
It was learnt that there was a daughter and father relationship between the duo. The late cleric used to call her “My Daughter” or “Moremi,” our sources revealed.
In her short tribute in honour of Baba Olorunwo, Amosun admitted that it was a mixed feeling putting it together.
She shared: “This tribute is one that I did not expect to write at this time, and so, it is with mixed feelings that I write these few words on the passage of Primate (Dr.) Emmanuel Omolaja Olorunwo, who answered the call on Thursday, 2nd September 2021, precisely four days after he celebrated his 85th Birthday.

“Baba Olorunwo, as I fondly called him, welcomed me warmly on Sunday, 29th August 2021, when I joined the Olorunwo family for a special thanksgiving service to commemorate the 85th birthday of Primate Olorunwo. I never knew that the occasion would be my last encounter with Baba Olorunwo. I still recall every bit of his activities on the day of thanksgiving, I did not know that the Primate was using the occasion to bid all of us present a farewell.
“Since our paths crossed many years ago, Baba Olorunwo had proven to be a true father. His kindness and unfettered love for me and my husband were unparalleled. We will miss his prayers, counselling, mentorship, and fatherly disposition…”
