Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Solomon Arase, and his Directorate of State Security Service (DSS) counterpart, Alhaji Lawal Daura, have been alerted to alleged blackmail and threats to the life of former Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Group General Manager, Prince Goddy Jedy-Agba, and his wife, Mrs. Beatrice Jedy-Agba, by the Cross River State government and its agents.
In separate petitions by Mrs. Justina Obono-Obla, of Obono, Obono & Associates, to Arase and Daura, the petitioner noted that since the defection of Jedy-Agba, an erstwhile frontline governorship aspirant in Cross River State, from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), “he has continually been subjected to campaigns of calumny, blackmail, intimidation and character assassination by the Cross River State government and its agents”.
Obono-Obla said: “Apart from the spurious petitions, some of these agents of the state government have been sending messages, threatening the lives of Jedy-Agba and his family, including blackmailing him with threats of filing petitions to the EFCC and ICPC, IGP and President Muhammadu Buhari, on our client’s career at the NNPC.”
