The wife of the former chairman of Akoko North West Local Government Area of Ondo State, Mrs Atinuke Ogunmilade, was yesterday evening kidnapped by suspected gunmen.

Mrs Ogunmilade was reportedly kidnapped along Ogbagi-Akoko and Ikare-Akoko while traveling in her car Toyota car.

A community leader in the town, Alhaji Rasaq Apalowo who spoke with The Nation, said, Mrs Ogumilade was going to her shop in Ikare-Akoko from Ogbagi-Akoko where she lives when she was kidnapped.

He said: The kidnappers have contacted the family and are demanding N2million ransom. They said she has been taken to a location close to Ajasepo in Kwara State and threatening to kill her if the family fails to pay the ransom within five days. We want to appeal to the police and other security agents in Kwara State to work towards ensuring her safe release.”
