Micho, Renard lobby for Oliseh’s job

There are strong indications that the incumbent manager of Uganda soccer team, Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic and the former Cote D’ Ivoire soccer team tactician, Herve Renard are eyeing the Super Eagles chief coach job, in event that either Sunday Oliseh resigns or his employers ask him to step aside.

SportingLife scooped exclusively that Renard and Micho are sending emissaries to the chieftains of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) about their interest in the Nigerian job, if any vacancy crops up.

But, those who should know at the Glasshouse informed SportingLife that Eagles assistant coach, Yusufu Salisu has been given the directive to prepare the Eagles for the back-to-back cracker against Egypt in Nigeria on March 23 and 27 in Cairo.

Whispers from the Glasshouse further suggested that Oliseh’s plans for the two-legged ties will be discussed at the technical committee meeting slated to hold either this week or next week, depending on how early Oliseh submits his technical report on how the CHAN Eagles fumbled at the Championship holding in Kigali, capital of Rwanda.

Indeed, the technical committee members are warming up for a showdown with Oliseh, if his report indicts everyone connected to the CHAN Eagles ouster, insisting that attempts to get Oliseh to invite some players such as Oghenekaro Etebor to strengthen the squad failed.

It remains to be seen how the NFF chiefs and Oliseh resolve the seeming impasse, especially as the contingent’s entitlements have been settled, promised by the Sports Minister, Solomon Dalung.
