The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Benue South Senatorial District rerun election, Comrade Daniel Onjeh, has promised to team up with the state government to accelerate the development of Apa/Agatu federal constituency.
Onjeh made the pledge last week during his ward- to- ward campaign tour of the two local government areas.
Addressing thousands of supporters at Obagaji, Agatu council headquarters, Onjeh stated that he would particularly partner with deputy governor, Engineer Benson Abounu, and the Minister for Agriculture, Chief Audu Ogbe, to deliver dividends of democracy to the district.
The former National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) president said he was better positioned to deliver democratic dividends to the district in the era of change.
Onjeh, who was led by deputy governor Benson Abounu on the campaign tour of the two Local government areas of the zone ahead of the rerun, was received by the Ad’Agatu (Agatu King), Chief Godwin Onah and Ad’Apa, Chief John Antenyi.
Both monarchs said they were pleased with the antecedents of Onjeh and blessed him to succeed in his quest to represent Zone C at the National Assembly.
Abounu disclosed that the Oshigbugu-Abagaji road has been provided for in the 2016 Appropriation, saying work will resume on the road once the project is passed into law.
He canvassed votes for Onjeh whom he described as a viable alternative to the former Senate President, David Mark.
Scores of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members who defected to APC include a two-time House of Representatives member, Solomon Agidani.
Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Agidani and Elder Citizen Ocholi said they left the PDP because they were fed up with the tissues of lies from the party in the past 16 years.
