Super Eagles chief coach, Sunday Oliseh must lock certain key players in the foreign legion in the room for frank discussions on their willingness to play for the country under his tutuleage, if he hopes to scale the Egyptian two-legged hurdle in Kaduna and Egypt on March 25 and 29.
Sportinglife scooped from three Europe-based players, who ply their trade in clubs featuring in the prestigeous UEFA Champions League that they wouldn’t be prepared to play for the Eagles under Oliseh after the harrowing experience of sitting on the bench in Port Harcourt against lowly-rated Swaziland.
The trio agrued that each time they come to play for Nigeria and they are benched, it affects their chances of playing for the European teams since their coaches would feel that they had lost form.
Interestingly, the trio and some others are insisting on having the coach sign an undertaking to play them in the country’s matches or leave them out of his selection exercise adding that: “Respect begets respect. The coach cannot be treating us like small boys in the midst of younger players. No coach did that to the coach when he was playing. We know his antecedents.”
