Nasarawa Utd’s Makama promises goals

Nasarawa United ended their wretched run of three winless matches in the top flight as they easily dispatched Ikorodu United 2-0 at the Aper Aku Stadium on Thursday.

A goal each from Ishaya Anyu and Abdulrahman Bashir helped eased the pressure on the hosts who recently crashed out of the CAF Confederation Cup.

The result ensured that Nasarawa United climbed to 19th in the 20-team table.

Nasarawa United have struggled to find the back of the net, which has in turn stunted their drive in the 2016 season. However, Makama is confident that the goals will come for the Lafia-based outfit.

“Goals will come. We want to continue to improve our position and everyone at the team knows that and we just have to work hard on it. The coach has been working with us on that and we should just implement what the coach tells us and create a lot of chances and score goals to win games,” Makama told Goal.

“We know goals win games and they will come. We will keep on fighting until the end,” the versatile defender added.
