A man identified as Alex Onuora has fled his residence after he allegedly stabbed twin brothers, Elvis and Newis Mekwa with broken bottles, killing one of them in Lagos.
The incident occurred on Tuesday at Council Bus Stop, Liasu Road, Ikotun, near a hotel owned by a musician’s wife.
The Nation gathered that the alleged murderer had the victims’ younger sister beaten up after she turned down his love advances.
The suspect reportedly tried to lure the young girl to bed while they were drinking at the hotel, an offer she rejected.
Angered by her refusal, Onuorah allegedly beat her up, prompting the girl to go home and report the incident to her brothers.
The twins, it was learnt confronted the suspect, leading to an altercation before Onuora alongside his friend, one Alia, allegedly took bottles from the hotel and stabbed the teenagers.
While the suspect stabbed Elvis on his neck, the other twin was severally stabbed on his hand and body.
Our correspondent learnt that Elvis bled severely and died before getting to the hospital, but Newis, who survived the stabs, was still being treated at the hospital.
The suspect, who resides at 51, Olalekan Adekoye Street, the same street with the victims, has since fled to an unknown place.
