The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has said the ruling party has no regrets “reversing” the legacies and accomplishments of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The party was reacting to claims by the Southwest PDP that that the APC has reversed its legacies and accomplishments. A statement by its spokesman, Joe Igbokwe, said: “If a ruined economy and infrastructure collapse were the reversed legacies of the PDP, then it is good riddance to bad rubbish.
“Such claim can only come from a shameless party at a time its leaders are refunding stolen funds and scores of others being investigated for alleged complicity in the plundering of the commonwealth of the nation.
“The PDP is still unrepentant of its callous misrule that wrecked the country as it lasted. It says that Nigerians will surely teach the PDP an unforgettable lesson for its notorious role in the ruination of the country.
“We wonder what legacy a failed and corrupt party like PDP is talking about if not about the legacy of corruption, shameless looting, infrastructural wreckage, ineptitude, decay, disease, hunger and want even with providentially drawing from an oil boom that would have been gainfully employed to better the lots of Nigerians.
“We challenge the Southwest PDP to list out the party’s legacies and accomplishments, if not horrendous cases of gargantuan looting and purloining of state resources to bring Nigeria on the brinks of economic collapse.
We challenge the PDP to list its woeful legacies that led to its total rejection by Nigerians last year.
