The police in Edo State on Friday arraigned a 21-year old man, Benjamin Obira, before an Oredo Magistrate Court for stealing a Samsung phone worth N7,000.
Obira allegedly burgled the residence of one Samuel Anthony and stole the phone.
He was said to have inflicted injuries on Anthony by stabbing him with a bottle.
The offense, according to police prosecutor, Sergeant Olatoye Oluwaseun, was committed in April at No. 9 Idehen Street, off Ekae Road, Edo State.
Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. C Oghuma, granted the accused bail in the sum N50,000 and a surety in like sum who must be resident within the court’s jurisdiction.
The case was adjourned to May 26 for hearing.
