Three women, who pleaded guilty to fighting in the public, were sentenced to six hours of community service in Lagos on Thursday.

The trio – Biliki Albert (25), Eniola Tajudeen  ( 17) and Kafayat Agbolayo ( 42) —  appeared before an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrate Court presided by Mrs. A.O. Ajibade.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the traders pleaded guilty to a one count charge of affray.

The chief magistrate, who handed the verdict, ordered the women to sweep the court’s premises for three days, that is two hours every day.

The prosecutor, Insp. Gbemileke Agoi, told the court that Agbolayo engaged the other two women in a street fight.

“While Albert, a food vendor, was hawking, Agbolayo deliberately poured away the cooked food, leading to a fight among the three,” the prosecutor said.

Agoi said the offence which was committed on Wednesday at Oyingbo Bus Stop, Ebute Meta, was a contravention of Section 54 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
