Don’t smear our name, Massob warns Anambra govt

•Group denies meeting Obiano

The Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has warned the Anambra State government to stop linking it with bribery or other acts capable of undermining the integrity of Ndi gbo.

A statement by its leader, Comrade Uchenna Madu, debunked claims that it met with Governor Willie Obiano.

The statement reads: “The attention of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has been drawn to destructive rumors going round Anambra State that Governor Obiano had induced MASSOB with monetary leverage to compromise the struggle for Biafra’s actualisation.

“The reformed MASSOB can never be bought or hijacked by political elements; we cannot compromise the struggle for our people’s emancipation.

“MASSOB warns the government of Anambra state to stop dragging its name in the mud. We did not send anybody or group to represent MASSOB in any capacity in their dealings with pro-Biafra groups.

“Anyone or group of people who claim to represent MASSOB in dealings with the Anambra state government is fake, including some workers of the Anambra state government.

“In as much as MASSOB is willing to partner other Igbo groups, state governments and individuals, it must be for Igbo and Biafra’s interest, not compromising the ultimate hope of Ndigbo.

“MASSOB will continue to represent the genuine interest of Ndigbo with all selflessness, total commitment and consistency.

“MASSOB will continue to hold Governor Obiano responsible for the murderous killings of members of pro-Biafra groups in Nkpor.”
