Ahead of next Saturday’s party primaries of the All Progressives Congress in Edo State, wife of Chairman of Edo State Economic Team, Godwin Obaseki, Mrs. Ifueko Betsy Obaseki, has urged female delegates of the party to vote for her husband.
Godwin Obaseki is a leading aspirant of the APC and has the backing of Governor Adams Oshiomhole.
Betsy said Edo state needs a successor who shares the vision of the Edo project plan and has participated actively in the formation of the policies and programmes of the present administration.
She spoke in Benin City when she hosted women leaders and female delegates of the APC.
Obaseki’s wife who observed that Edo State has witnessed unprecedented transformation in the last seven and half years, however assured that her husband would raise the bar as far as development is concerned.
“Women under the administration of my husband shall stand beside our men to build a vibrant and prosperous economy for the state. Looking around here today I am convinced that we have capable and talented women who will stand their own in the next dispensation to ensure that the women take their rightful place. It is against this background that I urge all the delegates here present to cast their votes for Mr Godwin Obaseki on June 18th at the party’s primaries.”
