A junior Secondary School (JSS 2) student of Lagos State Model Junior College, Agbowa Ikosi, Epe, Master Uchenna Onyekwere, was on Wednesday honoured as One-Day Principal of the school.
The 12-year-old student became the recipient of the honour following his victory at a recent spelling bee competition organized by the school.
A JSS 1 student, Miss Rofeeyat Odunbaku was also decorated as One -Day Vice Principal.
Master Onyekwere who said his best subject was English Language expressed his gratitude shortly after he was ushered into the Principal’s office said: “It was by God’s grace and hard work from reading my books. It is the best day of my life because the honour has turned me into a celebrity in the school. I pray God make this happens to me every day of my life. I thought the event was a joke until today; my principal is a woman of her word.
“My colleagues should make more efforts and put God first in whatever they do. Parents should also encourage their children to read their book and face their studies and not to play all the time. I thank the school for making today the best for me”
